What the user who opened this thread was seeing was SourceForge s. I became suspicious and did a virus scan of the whole computer but it didn't catch anything. FileZilla on Sourceforge includes ad/malware (Win32/64) For those of us who have the occasional need to use SFTP on Windows, I've been using FileZilla for as long as I can remember. Nor does FileZillas installer contain malware. I discovered that it wanted to translate from Ukrainian to English, which struck me as odd because the hosting website just appeared to be in english already. Then, chrome poped up a window asking if I wanted to "translate the page". When I logged in I thought I noticed something happen in the bottom left corner of the browser (like when you download a file). I downloaded the installer from a link to Sourceforge on the official web page ()Īfter installing and running filezilla, I then opened a chrome browser and logged in to the website of my hosting provider. I have just (1st Oct 2014) installed Filezilla - a popular open-source FTP client.
